Antiques Fair visitors can experience these designer’s perspectives first hand.

LuxeHome will present an Open House on October 2nd, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., on the first floor of The Merchandise Mart. The LuxeHome Open House is in celebration of National Kitchen and Bath month. LuxeHome is the world’s largest collection of premier boutiques for home building and renovation. Attendees can enjoy educational seminars, new product launches, design consultations, trunk shows, culinary demonstrations, and gourmet hospitality in the more than 30 participating boutiques.

This year LuxeHome will be featuring, in conjunction with the Fall International Antiques Fair, a keynote presentation with Carter Oosterhouse on October 2nd, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the south lobby. Carter Oosterhouse, the host of Home and Garden Television’s Carter Canand Red, Hot and Green, will present The Ultimate Reward: Investing in Your Renovation. This special keynote will present 10 Ways to Renew Your Home with Style. Admission to the Keynote presentation by Carter Oosterhouse is free and the event is open to the public. Guests to the Fall International Antiques Fair should visit the design center to meet top designers and tour the ultimate design resource. The Mart is a design must, boasting 150 showrooms and 2,500 product lines of luxury furnishings

DreamHome is participating in the Fair dates and through December 10th will present special showrooms in the north lobby, Suite 130 of The Merchandise Mart. DreamHome will showcase ten rooms created by celebrated local designers. Each designer will utilize the incredible resources of The Merchandise Mart Design Center showrooms to create “ultimate destinations” for the very best in interior design. The 2010 DreamHome design team includes nineteen talented designers in ten focused rooms. The foyer is designed by Summer Thornton, of Summer Thornton Design. The home office is designed by Tony Stavish, of A.W. Stavish. The living room is a collaborative design by Alex Jordan and Dan Smieszny, of Gregga Jordan Smieszny Incorporated. The bedroom is designed by Jeannie Balsam, of Jeannie Balsam, LLC. The bathroom is designed William Collins, of The Kohler Store. The dining room is a collaborative design by Lisa Simeone and Gina Deary, of Simeone Deary Design Group. Presenting the kitchen are designers Patrick Borg, Michelle Gribac, Kate Johston, and Martin Spicuzza, of Neff of Chicago. The sitting room is collaboratively designed by Monica Pedersen with Becky McCallum. Outdoor designs are presented by Michael Schmechtig, Toni Callahan and Christopher Michiels, of Schmechtig Landscapes. Finally the welcome lobby is a collaborative project of desingers Janet Shiff and Lynn Boutross, of Blutter Shiff Designs.

Admission to the DreamHome showrooms is free. However, a five dollar donation to the University of Chicago Cancer Research Foundation (UCCRF) Women’s Board is suggested.
