An anti-Semitic Elmo street performer gets a year in prison after he was sentenced in a NYC courtroom for trying to extort millions of dollars from the Girl Scouts, according to UPI.com on Oct. 9. Dan Sandler also known as Adam Sandler is a street performer. He is sometimes referred to as the “Evil Elmo” because he sports an Elmo costume and goes off on an anti-Semitic rant in the Times Square section of NYC.
He has been arrested for these rants in the past, but he is now in deep trouble for a failed plot to extort money from the Girl Scouts, an organization that he once volunteered for. His attempt to extort $2 million from the Girl Scouts has got him a year in prison.
When Sandler no longer volunteered for the Girl Scouts he started to send “alarming emails” to the staff members at the Girl Scout organization. He sent semi-nude pictures of himself along with threats to spread false rumors about the organization. In one of the emails he writes:
"If I go the controversial route I will probably publish fictitious content about the Girl Scouts. And name names….Like your name! Because you were my caring supervisor who now gives me the silence [sic] treatment."
Sandler doesn’t consider what he did trying to extort from the Girl Scouts. He equates his actions with a protest, like “laying down in an intersection.” He called the Girl Scouts “very corrupt” at his sentencing on Wednesday.
First he made Elmo look evil in the eyes of passersby when he stood on the streets of NYC and made his anti-Semantic comments, now he is going after another icon of childhood, the Girl Scouts. Do you think this man has some issues with his childhood?
