Anti-gun Moms Demand Action seeks to keep pro-gun Dana Loesch off 'The View'

If the anti-gun group Moms Demand Action and the far-left Media Matters have their way, conservative talk show host Dana Loesch will not be allowed to appear on Monday's edition of ABC’s “The View," The Blaze reported Saturday. The reason: Loesch supports the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms, and some liberals do not want that position aired on national television.

Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action, launched a Twitter campaign calling Loesch a “pro-gun extremist,” “hate monger,” and “gun bully.”

She also claimed that Magpul and the "gun lobby" pay Loesch to "promote lies about guns."

"The only problem with the claim is that it’s not true," Jason Howerton wrote at The Blaze.

When asked about the claim, Loesch laughed, saying “those checks much be getting lost in the mail.”

Although Loesch attended a “Farewell to Arms” rally held by Magpul last July, she wasn’t a paid spokesperson. Loesch said she attended the event with Real Clear Politics and received no money from the gun company.

But these days, it seems truth no longer matters to some -- only the agenda, and silencing those who disagree.

Another person claimed Loesch is "paid by the NRA to attack moms for advocating for a safer America."

"Care to provide proof of this accusation?" Loesch asked in response.

Loesch and others see Watt's actions as another example by the left to silence criticism.

“Why would Shannon have a problem with another mom standing up for responsible gun ownership and promoting gun safety? She wants to stop education on firearms and gun safety, which is antithetical to what she claims she wants,” Loesch said.

As a result of Watt's Twitter tirade, the hashtag #IStandWithDana trended nationally as supporters rallied behind Loesch. Howerton posted a number of tweets sent out using the hashtag.

Loesch also told The Blaze she has invited Watts to appear on her television program to debate the issue. Watts, however, has refused to appear with Loesch.
