Quality skin care manufactures are focusing on the natural process of glycation and how it triggers skin aging. Considered a scientific endeavor, skin care product developers are targeting anti-glycation at the cellular level in order to reverse skin care damage.

Natural skin care lines, such as DermaEarth in San Diego, created its scientifically driven SugarBerry Skin Resurfacing Cleanser to inhibit glycation. The method behind this product is to capture sugar molecules which attach itself to the skin via protein molecules or lipids.

“In our paraben-free cleanser is chlorophyllin, the well-known natural derivative of chlorophyll,” said the spokesperson from DermaEarth. She continued, “Also acting as a natural anti-inflammatory agent, it decreases the speed of the glycation, promotes collagen, and gently detoxifies our skin.”

The spokesperson pointed out the importance of finding a skin care product with anti-glycation properties because it has been known to do the following:

  • Lessen the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines
  • Offer improvements with slack skin
  • Promote a more luminous complexion
  • Encourage collagen production

“Products which inhibit glycation will support your skin’s structure which means you’ll have younger and more gorgeous looking skin,” she said.
