Anthousa, Setessan Hero is one of the newest "Magic: The Gathering" cards spoiled today Aug. 27, 2013 from Wizards of the Coast's upcoming expert expansion set "Theros." Revealed in an article by Trick Jarrett on DailyMTG.com, Anthousa, Setessan Hero is another heroic creature from "Theros."
Anthousa, Setessan Hero - 3GG
Legendary Creature - Human Warrior (Rare)
Heroic - Whenever you cast a spell that targets Anthousa, Setessan Hero, up to three target lands you control each become 2/2 Warrior creatures until end of turn. They're still lands.
"The warriors she leads can rarely keep pace with her, and neither can the tales."
Anthousa, Setessan Hero doesn't exactly have the most glamorous of abilities, however in a deck packed with instant combat tricks you'll be able to make some great blocks or go all out on the offensive, especially if you target it multiple times during the same turn.
Anthousa, Setessan Hero becomes particularly interesting when played in a deck with other heroic creatures such as Anax and Cymede. If you cast a spell that targets more than one of your creatures then you'll end up with three 3/3 creatures with trample. Depending on how many we see, building a deck filled with heroic creatures might just end up being a competitive strategy.
It's also important to note that Anthousa, Setessan Hero is both a Human and Warrior, allowing you to abuse it with other cards that care about either creature type. Although Anthousa, Setessan Hero is a legendary creature it's ability isn't powerful enough to warrant using it as your commander, however that shouldn't impede you from adding her to your deck.
How will you use Anthousa, Setessan Hero?
