Today, May 12, 2012, the Anthony Wayne Cat Fanciers opens its 37th Annual All-Breed show at the University of Michigan Sports Coliseum. The one-day event is the only Cat Fanciers Association show in Michigan until August 18, when the Midwest Persian Tabby Fanciers holds its show in Taylor.

The show will feature six judges working in six separate rings. Many different breeds, including American Shorthairs, Burmese, Cornish Rex, Devon Rex, Exotics, Japanese Bobtails, Maine Coons, Orientals, Persians, Ragdolls, Russian Blues, and Tonkinese, will be represented. Last year's event had 200 cats competing, according to a statement from show co-manager Barb Schreck, and a similar number are expected this year. Professional pet photographer Justine St. Arnaud is also scheduled to be present for portrait appointments.

The University of Michigan Sports Coliseum is located at 721 S. 5th Ave, Ann Arbor, MI‎, at Hill & Fifth Street, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free parking is available in a lot next to the Coliseum. Admission is $6.00 for adults; seniors and students are admitted for $4.00.
