According to ComicBook.com on Sept. 1, Anthony Mackie, who is playing the role as Falcon in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", wanted to explicitly state in his contract to keep the character's wings after he was done with the film. His request was denied, but seemed pretty adamant about it.
Mackie also wondered if he at least got to keep the cap from the costume. Considering that he had been also denied the cap from "The Adjustment Bureau" as well, he must have figured it was about time he got some kind of souvenir out of it.
According to Mackie, he acknowledges like with Henry Cavill's role in "Man of Steel" he felt he was in an entirely different frame of mind when in costume and as such, brought about his desire to have an attachment to certain props from an iconic film.
“The funny thing about that was, every time I put on the costume I felt kind of invincible. So It was more trying not to get in trouble! “I felt a little ridiculous at first because you’re a thirty-something-year-old man dressing like a cartoon hero, but after a while you start buying into it".
To give a little back story on Falcon, his given identity is Sam Wilson, and he fights along side Steve Rogers, but he wasn't always a good guy. Ever since the death of his father and mother due to crime related situations, he had grown bitter and had let depression overwhelm him causing to take on a racketeering role for the mob in Harlem. During that time, he went by the name of "Snap" Wilson.
"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" is scheduled to be released April 4, 2014.
