Actor Anthony Mackie graced the red carpet with his co-stars on Monday at the premiere of their new action-crime film “Gangster Squad” which hits theaters around the country on Friday January 11. Mackie attended the event held at Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood with his cast-mates Josh Brolin, Sean Penn, Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling, Michael Peña, Giovanni Ribisi, Mireille Enos, Nick Nolte and Robert Patrick.
Mackie plays Officer Coleman Harris in the movie which is about a 1940’s L.A. police unit trying to keep a mob presence out of the city. “Gangster Squad” is just one of several films Mackie has lined up for 2013.
According to Mackie’s IMDB page, he stars in the the action-comedy “Pain & Gain” with Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson in April. Mackie's fans can also see him in the film “The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete” with Jeffrey Wright and Jennifer Hudson which will make its debut at the Sundance Film Festival later this month.
The Louisiana-born actor has displayed his versatility with roles in multiple films. Over the last several years he’s starred in back to back movies including “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”, and “Man on a Ledge” from 2012 and in 2011’s “The Adjustment Bureau” and “Reel Steel” with Hugh Jackman.
