Today ANSYS announced Infiniti Red Bull Racing received first place for the fourth year in a row for the Constructor’s World Championship in the Formula One (F1) racing series. Infiniti Red Bull Racing along with three other teams using ANSYS simulation technology finished in the top six of the championship. The Formula One Constructor’s World Championship is awarded by the nonprofit Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) to the car that makes the most points during a racing season. The Infiniti Red Bull Racing Team increased their points by 30 percent compared to 2012 and dominated the competition with 596 points compared to the second place Mercedes score of 360.

"With another winning year under our belts, it's clear that ANSYS is a key component to our success," said Nathan Sykes, CFD and FEA Tools Team Leader at Infiniti Red Bull Racing. "We are confident that the speed and accuracy from ANSYS simulation solutions ultimately translates to victories on the track while helping us remain compliant with tight racing regulations."

"The F1 racing world faces many challenges, both on and off the track," said Sandeep Sovani, manager of automotive strategy at ANSYS. "Compressed development timelines and strict design and testing regulations often force design engineers to work in overdrive. Without simulation to validate and optimize each component in race cars, teams risk overlooking possible design advantages as they try to keep pace."

ANSYS is a company established in 1970 and headquartered south of Pittsburgh in Canonsburg, PA. The company’s bandwidth includes 60 sales locations globally and has channel partners in more than 40 countries. ANSYS Inc. develops and markets engineering simulation software used by designers, engineers and researchers across aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, electronics, biomedical, energy and defense.

“ANSYS employs more than 2,100 professionals, and many of them are engineers expert in fields such as finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics, electronics and electromagnetics, and design optimization. Our staff includes more master’s and Ph.D.-level engineers than any other simulation provider.”

ANSYS Inc. is traded on the NASDAQ (NASDAQ:ANSS) and classified in the technology sector of the application software industry. From 2012 to 2013 average closing stock price comparisons of the company, ANSYS is performing better this year than last with a different cyclical trend. In 2012, the company steadily increased the average closing stock price throughout the year rising from 62.49, 63.52, 65.97 and 68.39 from first to fourth quarter.
