Another year upon us, look forward to new music ahead instead of reverse

It is such a typical thing to do this time of year. Comprise of an article that highlights the great records from this year and attempt to put them in some sort of ranking. Who cares what ranking some person that readers do not know even chooses.

There is no list and there is no ranking coming from here.

Instead, the aim is forward. What potentially groundbreaking album is in the final production stages that should be slated for an early 2014 release? The first one to come to mind and the one that holds the most anticipation is the new release from Margot and the Nuclear So & So's.

Besides, the anticipation for this record will be like Christmas all over again.

The new record will be called Sling Shot to Heaven, or simply LP5, due out February 2014. The release will be joined with a film that has been put together in conjunction with the record.

This band has had plenty of success through the years but seems most at home with their cult following/underground existence. Freedom to do as they please and have real connections with their fans must have been priority for singer/songwriter Richard Edwards. That type of existence speaks tremendously of this band.

Pre-orders can be made through the band's Facebook page as well as future news on when they will come to the Los Angeles area.
