The character first appeared in the “Find Mii” video game for the Nintendo 3DS. The pre-installed free title takes advantages of the Street Pass feature of the portable system to build a team of party members to fight against waves of enemies in series of turn-based role-playing battles. The Dark Lord is the main antagonist of the second “Find Mii” release.

Masahiro Sakurai posted a screenshot from the Nintendo 3DS version of “Super Smash Bros. 4,” showing the aforementioned character apparently attacking Wii Fit Trainer, one of the newcomers in the crossover fighting game. The game director also provided several hints about the cameo for fans who couldn’t figure it out just by looking at the image. Dark Lord has only been shown in the handheld iteration of “Super Smash Bros. 4” so far. The same video game is also being released by Nintendo for the Wii U console sometime next year in the North American region.
