A Nor’easter is hitting the tri-state area and it feels like déjà vu all over again. Delaware County has issued a state of emergency for the county. (www.co.delaware.pa.us/) Hundreds of flights have been cancelled. You should
call the Philadelphia airport before departing. 1-800-PHL-GATE (TDD/TTY: 215-937-6755) (http://www.phl.org/passengerinfo/pages/flightinformation.aspx). Septa has halted all bus service and will have an update at noon today.(www.septa.org)
PECO is aware of outages throughout the area, including Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties. For updates regarding outages, see (https://www.peco.com/CustomerService/OutageCenter/OutageMap/Pages/Outage...)
Of course schools are closed in the areas and many businesses have closed in anticipation of this storm.
In Upper Darby, Mayor Tom Micozzie issued a statement on Facebook asking if you can stay off the roads pleased do so, that way highway crews can do their jobs of clearing the snow. Updates can be viewed at www.UpperDarby.org.
Side streets are not drivable as neighbors work together to clear paths and use snow blowers to try and make them passable. A storm like this can bring out the worst and best in people. On Westdale Road, in the Highland Park section of Upper Darby, neighbors are working together to clear sidewalks and the street. There is young and old working together and even a laugh or two. All agree that enough is enough, no more snow.
