Another rap: DMX arrested for driving without a license

Hip hop rapper and icon DMX continues to set a bad example for teens who, hopefully, will never emulate this man. According to the Washington Post, he was arrested for driving without a license Wednesday, Feb. 13 in the wee hours of morning.

DMX's police rap sheet of past driving charges almost exceeds his list of awards, including driving at 102 miles-per-hour in Phoenix in 2011. DMX once won Artist of the Year (solo) and Live Performer of the Year on "The Source Hip Hop Awards." He might be better off sticking to rap and leaving the driving to someone else.

“No, I didn't have a license ... put the cuffs on me. Brought me here. I paid the money. Basically, just 5 hours wasted for nothing,” DMX wise-mouthed to the local South Carolina Fox news as he was leaving the detention center.

DMX, whose actual name is Earl Simmons, is notorious for outlandish and inexplicable brushes with law enforcement. Once, according to Music 11, "DMX crashed his SUV through a secured gate at JFK Airport... because he wanted to avoid paying a $9 toll. When security rushed up, he told them to leave him alone, because he was a federal agent."

This time, DMX had his five-month-old daughter in the car with him. Obviously, DMX and cars are a bad mix.
