Erie County Fair – Wednesday, August 6th through Sunday, August 17th at the Hamburg Fairgrounds. The 175th edition of the Fair features unique foods, lots of animals, music and magic, an appearance by Nik Wallenda (Sunday, August 10th), concerts from stars like John Fogarty (Thursday, August 7th) and Lady Antebellum (Wednesday, August 13th), and much more Fair fun. Regular admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors (60+) and free for kids 12 and under; check the Fair’s website, www.ecfair.org, for discounts available throughout the event.

Buffalo Brew Fest – Friday, August 8th on Illinois Ave. in the historic Cobblestone District in downtown Buffalo – gates open at 5:30 p.m. The event features more than 50 craft brews plus delicious food. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 the day of the event – proceeds benefit Buffalo Hearing and Speech Center. Find out more at the event’s website.

Scottish Festival – Saturday, August 16th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Buffalo Niagara Heritage Village, 3755 Tonawanda Creek Rd. in Amherst. Features traditional food and beverages, dancers, pipers, live music and the Highland Games. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for BNHV members and free for kids 12 and under – find out more at bnhv.org.

Taste of Lockport – Sunday, August 17th from noon to 6 p.m. at Ida Fritz Park in Lockport. Featuring more than a dozen restaurants and wineries plus live music and entertainment. Find out more at www.thetasteoflockport.com.
