Another punk laughs as he kicks cat through the air and posts to social media

This was just a malicious animal cruelty stunt. The cat ran away after the punk kicked it.
Ohio Animal Abuser List Facebook page

A disturbing video posted earlier this week on the Ohio Animal Abuser List Facebook page shows a young punk kicking a defenseless neighborhood cat, and then laughing about the dastardly deed with the person recording the animal cruelty.

The video shows an affectionate cat approach the young man, and then without any provocation, the teen maliciously kicks the cat several feet sending it soaring through the air. And if that's not disturbing enough, the punk and the person recording the egregious action, laugh about it.

According to LiveLeak.com, the recording was removed by Facebook since it violated the terms of service as promoting animal cruelty, but not before a Care2.com petition was started identifying one of the alleged participants. The petition identifies the cat attacker as Roy Hill.

Newsnet.5.com reports that the Akron Police Department are investigating the complaints. Captain Daniel Zampelli stated:

"We are working on it. We take animal cruelty cases like this very seriously. Our first steps are to ID the man, find out where he is at and confront him. From there we will work with he prosecutor's office to figure out if charges should be filed."

If these men are arrested and found guilty of animal abuse, they could face a $2,500 fine and/or 90 days in jail.

According to the National Link Coalition, excuses such as "boys will be boys or it was only a cat" hold up as reasonable anymore. Any kind of animal abuse is an indicator of psychological issues that must be addressed in a strong attempt to curb future violence to both animals and humans.
