It has only been four months, but Lorain Wong, who was hired as HTC’s head of global PR in June of this year, has already made her exit on Friday. This departure is only the latest in a string of company executives taking their leave from a company that makes great products, but can't break even with profits. Wong is the the third high-ranking PR team member to resign from HTC in the past two years.
The HTC One is, perhaps, the best reviewed smartphone of the year. However, the company has trouble convincing consumers it is a better buy than the Samsung Galaxy S4. They also had trouble keeping up with demand and parts. This is disappointing; the HTC One could have been the biggest smartphone victory of the year.
What can HTC do in order to revive their image? "Well, I hear stories of HTC One batteries that have gone out only after a couple of months," Los Angeles Industry Analyst Paul Mueller tells us. "But for the most part, HTC's downfall has nothing to do with their products, but everything to do with people running the show." HTC is about to release the HTC One max to compete with the Galaxy Note 3. Let's hope things improve for this amazing tech company.
