A few years after Dollywood's silver anniversary, the park continues to polish its game and the result is golden. In August, Dolly Parton came back home to Sevier County to make a couple of announcements that proved to be as big as well ... you know, her wigs.

Coming next year is the country's first dual-launch family coaster. It is called the Firechaser Express and it goes both forward and backward. The new attraction will replace Adventure Mountain which has slowly been dismantled throughout the current season. The other addition won't open until 2015, the park's 30th season. Dollywood's DreamMore Resort, a 300-room hotel will open next to the park.

So, what could top all this big news, why a few golden tickets of course. On September 6th and 7th, Amusement Today magazine announced its annual park and ride winners, called the Golden Ticket Awards. Dollywood took home five top prizes.

There are still more than three months to enjoy Dollywood before it closes for the season. Up next is the National Southern Gospel & Harvest Celebration which begins October 2nd. And starting on November 9th it's the Smoky Mountain Christmas featuring an all new production, Dollywood's A Christmas Carol. the show will feature holograms and eight new songs written by Dolly Parton. The park's last day for the season is January 4th.
