East Bay, California: Nova is not even one year old yet and is already headed for doom. She was adopted from the Livermore SPCA and her owner has fallen on hard times.
Nova is a pittie Ridgeback mix and very gentle. She is spayed and house trained, but that won’t mean much at a high kill shelter. Tons of California dogs are dying daily due to misappropriated donation money.
While high profile groups spend donations earmarked to save California animals on six digit salaries and huge mortgage payments, dogs like Nova are dying in California pounds.
Please help stop this insanity. If you are interested in helping Nova, please comment below this article. Be wise when donating. Ask you local shelter which groups are saving the animals in your community. The answers might surprise you.
Already so early into the new year, the American Pit Bull Examiner’s email box is filled with sad and desperate stories about sweet dogs like Nova with no place to go. Help us spread the word and turn these terrible numbers around. It truly takes a village to save a dog, but it can be done. Help make 2013 a different year for animals in California and the rest of the country.
Cindy Marabito of Reunion Rescue writes the American Pit Bull Examiner stories to save lives. Every click on a story donates to the animals.
