It's another Boston Music Weekend starting on Friday, May 2, 2014.

On Friday, Doubleshot Boston will be playing at Hajjars, 969 Washington Street, Weymouth (781)340-1870. Doubleshot is one of Boston's best hard rock cover bands. If you like Ozzy or Metallica, you'll love Doubleshot! The band is: Bill Feeny on drums, Bob Coots on bass, Ian Garvey on lead vocals and Peter Kendall on guitar.

One of Boston's favorite country bands, Walkin the Line will be back at Toby Keith's I Love this Bar and Grill, 275 Patriot Place, Foxboro (508)543-8629 on Friday. This southern country rock band is Ashley Hewitt on lead vocals and fiddle, Kevin White on lead vocals and guitar, Stephen Dionne on lead guitar and vocals, Jordan Alegant on bass and vocals and John Repucci on drums. This band is high energy and an all star line up of musicians.

JJ'sSports Bar and Grill has a Guns n Roses Tribute Band called GN'R on Friday. JJ's SPort Bar and Grill is located at 380 Southwest Cutoff in Northborough (508)845-8420. It's an all Guns n Roses night!

On Saturday, May 3, 2014, Metal 101 with Marc Lopes will be at City Limits, 326 North Main Street in Randolph (781)986-2489. Metal 101 is a heavy metal hard hitting band. It's 80's metal and all that is metal. The band is Marc Lopes on vocals, Joe Morency on drums, Barry Collins on lead rythym guitar and backing vocals, Dave Souza on lead rythym guitar and Tom Walason on bass and background vocals.

The Brooks Young Band will be performing at the Music for Life Rock and Run at the Wachusett Village Inn, 9 Village Inn Road, Wachusett on Saturday. It's the 4th Annual Rock and Run with a 5K Run and Walk. Go to the website:

Hot Acoustics will be at Firefly's, 350 East Main Street in Marlborough on Saturday. The band is Steve Spector on guitar and vocals, Tim Leavitt on guitar, bass and vocals, Carter Berking on bass and vocals and Ray Elwood on drums and percussion.

The Soul Box Band is at Maggy's Lounge, 609 Washington Street in Quincy on Saturday. The band is George Howard on vocals, Greg Miller on guitar, Matt Smith on keyboards, Rob Megna on drums and Paul Chase on bass. Soul Box draws from funk, reggae, rock and soul classics.

Also on Saturday, The Fat City Band at the Chicken Bone, 358 Waverly Street, Framingham (800)946-4728. If you like that big band sound, then head on over to see The Fat City Band and bring your dancing shoes. It's a six piece New Orleans style R & B band. The band is Paul Redmind on lead vocals, John Litwin on drums, Mark Andersen on guitar, Joe Baglione on five string bass, Shane Wood on keyboards and Tucker Antell on sax.

The Juke Joint 5 is back at the Cantab Lounge, 738 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge (617)354-2685 this Saturday. If you're looking for kick ass electric blues, then this is your band. The band is Gretchan Bostrom on vocals, John Bunszell on bass, Dick "The Poet" Lourie on sax, Silvertone Steve on guitar and Noah Teshu on drums.
