Dallas will have a Six-Flags-Style ride through weather extremes this week.

Springtime warmth …with highs pushing 80 Tuesday….. will be followed by temperatures dropping like a stone Wed-Thu. It will likely be the coldest air of the season with lows well into the 20s, and highs remaining in the 30s by Friday.

The natural question to follow: will there be any frozen precipitation? A: North Texas will probably get some sort of rain, freezing rain or sleet because a deep upper trough will develop an over-running pattern favorable for rain. However, as with the “bust” last week, a few degrees can make a world of difference. Stay tuned.
