On Sept. 19, the Anchorage Police Department identified the 18-year-old found severely beaten, unconscious, and left to die in an abandoned Anchorage, Alaska home. The teen’s name is James Clinton.
On Monday, Sept. 16, according to ABC News, someone slipped a typed, anonymous note under the door of the police department on the University of Alaska Anchorage campus. The note led police to James Clinton, whose body was found in the basement of the abandoned home, “unconscious in critical condition and being held against his will.”
Police said that Clinton’s injuries were extensive; and that he was beaten “around the head and the face, the whole body."
As of yesterday, Clinton was still unconscious and listed in critical condition. Due to his medical state, authorities have not yet had an opportunity to interview him.
Clinton’s Facebook page states that he studied at the University of Alaska Anchorage, and that he was an overnight stocker working at Wal-Mart.
According to Anchorage Daily News, Clinton was known to be homeless as of last year and living in a local shelter.
Police are crediting the author of the anonymous note with saving Clinton’s life. Police also hope that the tipster will come forward to aid them in their investigation.
