Anonymous login: New Facebook privacy feature debuts

The anonymous login feature on Facebook has been released. According to NewsOXY, the new feature will allow Facebook users to sign into apps on their smart phones and devices without having their personal data shared.

What you might not realize is that the "login with Facebook" feature that you see when signing up on sites like Pinterest (for example), doesn't just create a simple user name and password for you. Often, some these apps can access your personal information -- because (previously) Facebook shares that information. Now, with the new feature, your personal information won't be shared or stored but you will still be able to enjoy the sign-in ease.

The anonymous login will be really helpful for people who want to sign into apps with ease but who are weary about having all of their personal info shared with unknown people. A lot of people avoid the "sign in using Facebook" feature because of this -- but others don't even think about it, which is even scarier. You can check out the video above to learn more about the new feature and why it's important.

"By giving people more power and control, they’re going to trust more apps," Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said at the company’s annual F8 developers conference in San Francisco (via NewsOXY). "We know some people are scared of pressing this blue button. We want to do more to put control and power back in people’s hands," he added.

Will the anonymous login feature for Facebook change the way you access apps on your mobile device?
