Anonymous hacks and defaces the Greek Ministry of Justice website, demanding the release of three Greek teenagers accused of hacking and defacing the Greek Ministry of Justice website earlier this month.
On Tuesday, hacktivists associated with Anonymous claimed responsibility for hacking and defacing the Greek Ministry of Justice website. Several reliable Anonymous sources indicated the action was motivated by a desire to secure the release of three teens suspected of taking part in a previous hack and defacement of the Greek Ministry of Justice.
On Tuesday, Anonymous @YourAnonNews tweeted the following:
HACKED: GREEK MINISTRY OF JUSTICE - ministryofjustice.gr << For the unfounded arrest and detention of 3 not-guilty teens. #Anonymous
Also on Tuesday, The Real Sabu @anonymouSabu tweeted:
Greeks: Release those 3 teens. They had nothing to do with the hack. You obviously arrested the wrong people. Come get us... #antisec
The Inquirer reports that the three suspected Anonymous hackers, aged 16, 17 and 18, belong to a hacking group called the Greek Hacking Scene (GHS) and have publicly stated their support for Anonymous. The Inquirer goes on to report that a statement from the Greek police indicates that the three accused teens have "committed dozens of digital attacks."

While the pretext for the hacking appears to have been an arrest of the wrong people, is seems to have angered Anonymous to the point where they have left an extended message of demands on the Greek website, warning that unless the IMF withdraws from the country and the government resigns, all debts of Greek citizens will be wiped clean.
International Business Times reports that the Greek Ministry of Justice website page was replaced with a black screen bearing two Anonymous seals and a throbbing occult image of an eyeball in a pyramid placed above the word "Illuminati" In addition, the defaced page revealed a Guy Fawkes mask graphic and the words "WE ARE ANONYMOUS." A neon green box at the bottom of the screen fills slowly with Greek characters until it is filled, then is replaced by the words "EXPECT US! JUSTICE IS COMING!"
The three young hackers accused of hacking and defacing the Greek Ministry of Justice earlier this month were allegedly protesting the controversial Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA). Critics believe that ACTA will destroy the Internet as we know it, and lead to widespread Internet censorship.
