Glenn Beck promotes right wing Christian values in a strange parody of the international Internet hacktivist collective known as Anonymous.
On Tuesday, Glenn Beck released “Anonymous for the Good,” a video parody based on the many videos Anonymous enthusiasts use to promote causes, announce operations, and offer manifestos. Beck previewed the video on Tuesday evening’s episode of The Glenn Beck Program.
The video seems to be a vague and confusing indictment of progressive, liberal, secular values. Speaking of some nebulous “evil” force in the world, the computer generated voice in the video laments such things as an end to mandatory prayer in school.
The following is a transcript of an excerpt from the video:
This is a message from goodness.... We have been silent. We have been complacent. Meanwhile, evil has had its way in this country and throughout world. When evil thrived in the political arena, we looked the other way. When it invaded our schools, ended prayer, replace discipline, humiliated our children, made them unsafe, and fed them lies... we would not believe.Darkness has been creeping across the country for far to long while we sat idly by. The time for being asleep and silent is over. It's time to rebuild our families, communities, cities, states, and our country. It's time to spread the light. Expect Us.
