September 12 through October 27-In Alpine Helen, Georgia kick off the tapping of the keg and Fall family fun, rides for the kids, of continuous German music, food and vendors for shopping. Helen is a cobblestone alpine village with the rustic charm woven in with mountains, recreation, romantic getaways and beautiful rich autumn scenery.

The Fall Oktoberfest festivities themselves date all the way back to the 1800’s, when Crown Prince Ludwig married Princess Therese of Sax-Hildburgehausen in Germany. Munich was invited to celebrate and the tradition continues and is celebrated in the USA.

September 13th settle in with some ice coldOktoberfest German beer and pastries, festivities and the Travis Trit Tribute Band starting at 8pm to 10pm. Every Saturday night is the Elvis Tribute turns Alpine Helen Georgia into a German Memphis.
September 14, Saturday, Opening ceremony and Keg Tapping
Sing, chicken dance, mingle, the ceremonies begin with German-America representatives wearing traditional vestments. The Oktoberfest keg tapping marks the Fall traditional events parade at noon (get there early and get a good spot), barrel rolling, beer stein races food and beer as well as family fun entertainment.
Polka, polka, polka
Oktoberfest Family fun. Grab your favorite partner and take a spin on the dance floor while the accordion squeezes out timeless tunes of polka. It’s a world-class event in Alpine Helen, as the Oktoberfest rolls out the beer barrels and the Alpine horns early to greet locals and visitors.
