Jasyn Clark, demo specialist at the West Paces Ferry Whole Foods, is coordinating their 6th Annual Gluten Free Expo set to take place on Saturday, August 9 from 12-4 p.m. Whole Foods holds this event to educate people who are either on or transitioning to the gluten-free diet by showing them all of the gluten-free products the store has to offer. The event offers a day of customer and team member education and face-to-face interaction with owners of gluten-free products carried at the store.
They are inviting a diverse roster of gluten-free vendors to introduce their gluten-free products to interested consumers. The store will feature samples of gluten-free items from each department. Representatives from the Gluten Intolerance Group of Atlanta (GIG) will be on hand to answer questions about becoming a member of their adult support group for people following the gluten-free diet.
The number of people being diagnosed with celiac disease or non-celiac gluten sensitivity is on the rise and that raises the demand for gluten-free products. Manufacturers are hurrying to get gluten-free products on store shelves, but not all are taking the time to create them out of wholesome gluten-free grains. Too many gluten-free products are filled with high levels of salt, sugar, and starches, which can render them high in fat and calories and low in quality.
According to Jasyn, their customers have expressed an overwhelming concern about the gluten-free diet, celiac disease, and wheat allergies. If you have ever wondered what the gluten-free diet is all about, or you are transitioning to it, then this event is the perfect way to try products before buying them.
Stop on by and see all that Whole Foods has to offer and enjoy a sample, or two while there.
