The Schaumburg Township District Library (STDL) is co-hosting The Annual Environmental Fair with the Village of Schaumburg at the Central Library on Saturday, November 16, 2013. The event will include seminars, movies, free handouts, and items for purchase.
In the lobby, one will find a STDL Craft/Face Painting table, as well as Poplar Creek Prairie Stewards, Just the Two of Us Antiques, Schaumburg Bicycle Club, Habitat for Humanity ReStore, HopeNotes, Urban Worm Girl, Spring Valley Nature Center, and the Schaumburg Community Garden Club. March of the Penguins (2005) will be screened in the Audiovisual Theatre at 11:00 a.m. and Free Willy (1993) will be screened at 2:00 p.m.
The Village of Schaumburg is hosting seminars in the Rasmussen North and South Rooms. The seminars Recycling and Stepping Stones to Greening Your Home both begin at noon.
Indoor Air Quality for the Home begins at 1:00 p.m., as does Tips and Tricks for Green Living. Energy Efficiency for Your Home and Getting a Jump on Your Vegetable Garden start at 2:00 p.m.
The seminar Where Nature Comes Home starts at 2:30 p.m. Green Cleaning at Home starts at 3:00 p.m.
The STDL will be closed Friday, November 22, 2013 for Staff Inservice Day in addition to being closed for Thanksgiving (Thursday, November 28, 2013).
The Hoffman Estates Branch of the Schaumburg Township District Library will remain open during Hassell Road Construction project.
The next Book Sale will be on Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It will be held in the Central Library’s basement. Enter on the south side of the building. Most paperbacks will be fifty cents and most hardcovers will be one dollar.
