It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Okay, not for kids, but for the dogs, of course. Now that the kids are back in school, the pools have gone to the dogs!
September 11, 2010 is the 10th Annual Dog Paddle at Woodland Aquatic Center in Woodland Park. It’s a day when the dogs take over the swimming pool! The event will be held between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday with the rain date on September 12th.
All dogs must show their 2008, 2009 or 2010 rabies tag or proof of vaccination! And sorry, but humans will not be allowed to swim! This day belongs to the dogs!
Admission is $10 per dog with a limit of 2 people $5 per person after the limit. Children under 10 admitted free with paid adult. This fundraiser benefits the creation & maintenance of Lexington Dog Parks.
Because it is the 10th year for this event, the Friends of the Dog Park will be selling commemorative t-shirts with a special logo designed by Woofs by Weber.
Sponsors of this year’s annual Dog Paddle include: Soft Paws Salon, Bluegrass Barkery, Lansdowne Veterinary Clinic, Pet Suites, COIT Cleaning Services, & Incredipet. Make sure to thank them for their support when you stop in.
The Dog Paddle is in need of volunteers for these hours: 10:30-12:30 and 12:30-2:30. Feel free to email Shannon Hutchinson, Friends of the Dog Park, Inc, firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions you may have. Volunteers will receive a free t-shirt & a free admission for one dog (before or after your volunteer shift).
If your dog enjoys swimming, or just frolicking in the water with other like minded canines, come on out to Woodland Aquatic Center on September 11. I have heard that it is best to come early of your dog prefers cleaner water.
