Staying active seems to get tougher as the weather gets colder. At the same time, with all of the holiday’s meals and social activities this time of year exercise becomes increasingly important. On average people gain up to six pound from October to January and what’s worse, less than 15 percent will lose the weight. While it may not seem like much, in three years that is almost a twenty pound weight gain for just a few months out of the year! Why not start the holiday season off by celebrating Halloween at the 15th Annual 5k Boo run held in historic downtown Flowery Branch Georgia.

This 3.1 mile race winds its way through a rustic Flowery Branch neighborhood finishing at the old train station where awards and raffles end out the event. A fun run is a great way to usher in the cooler weather with a bang and solidify your commitment to exercise even if your healthy eating habits may slack off a bit. The Boo Run is newly certified for the pros yet still offers a reasonable distance for all fitness levels. Pets, strollers and those with or without costume welcome. It’s held on October 27th just in time to burn off those impending Halloween treats.
