 The number of things, events and activities that Humanists and Freethinkers in the Tampa Bay area can participate in seems to be growing like wildfire.  Here is the latest round of updates and announcements of concern to area Humanists as of Jan 23rd 2012.

Upcoming Events:

The Rev. Barry Lynn will be speaking at the UU of Sarasota on Monday Jan 30th at 7pm.  His talk will be about the national effort of the religious right to use taxpayers’ dollars to fund school vouchers and other religious activities.  For details and to RSVP go to: http://www.uusarasota.com/nextpage.php?id=148&cat_id=&p=#ontitle

A Religious Liberty Weekend is being hosted by the UU Church of Sarasota. Humanists of Florida Association Announcements:

We now have dates for upcoming Humanists of Florida events.  They are hosting a mini conference on April 21st in Tallahassee and their statewide conference will be Sept 28th – 30th 2012, location to be announced. For more details visit: http://www.floridahumanist.org

Reason Rally Updates:

There are several Humanists and freethinkers from Tampa to Sarasota that are planning to go to the Reason Rally being held in Washington DC on March 24th, 2012. If you are interested in going, there is a group bus leaving from Tampa on Friday March 23rd. The Reason Rally has added quite a number of big name stars to the line up including Adam Savage of Mythbusters, Tim Minchin, Paul Provenza and James Randi.  Full details at: http://reasonrally.org/
