As we find ourselves at the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, there is much sadness over all that we have lost, as individuals and as a nation. However, the anniversary also brings back memories of the tremendous pride we all felt toward our firefighters, police officers and other first responders who rushed toward the World Trade Center, Pentagon and fallen flight 93, looking for survivors. Since then, our military has made us proud, never stopping the search to find those responsible. This month, country music artist James Otto intends to honor our heroes.
Though through the tragic events of 9/11 some truly inspirational heroes emerged, each of us have encountered heroes in our everyday lives. Whether our hero is an emergency responder, a father or husband, a teacher, a coach or just a caring next door neighbor, we've all come across someone who looks beyond their own needs to care for the needs of others.
During the month of September, country singer, James Otto will honor fans' heroes. He has provided a page on his website where fans can submit stories of their heroes and be entered into a contest for free concert tickets. James Otto has committed to reading each post personally and he will randomly choose fans to receive two tickets to a September show. During the concert performance of his song, Soldiers and Jesus, James Otto will give a personal dedication to the winning fan's hero. James Otto states, "I know it’s not much, but I feel this is the least I can do to show my sincere thanks to those who make the ultimate sacrifice, in memory of the Sept. 11th victims."
To enter James Otto's contest for concert tickets, submit your hero's story here.
