‘Annie’ trailer makes debut; film stars Quvenzhané Wallis and Jamie Foxx

The teaser trailer for the "Annie" remake starring Oscar nominee Quvenzhané Wallis in the title role has made its debut. Sony Pictures released the trailer on Wednesday ahead of the film’s December premiere. Wallis stars an orphan who changes the life of a wealthy businessman running for political office.

The musical family drama sports an all-star cast that also includes Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale, Dorian Missick and Tracie Thoms. It is directed by Will Gluck and is a contemporary re-telling of the Broadway play and the 1982 film starring Aileen Quinn. Rap mogul Jay-Z and Will and Jada Pinkett Smith are among the producers for the film.

Wallis made history as the youngest Oscar nominee for her role in 2012’s “Beasts of The Southern Wild” and recently starred in the Oscar winning film “12 Years a Slave”.

Anniepremieres in theaters nationwide on December 19, 2014.
