The police announced tonight that they found the remains of a woman they assume is Annie Le, the missing Yale graduate student, a senior police official said. The body was found inside a wall at 10 Amistad Street, said Peter Reichard, New Haven, Connecticut, assistant police chief, CNN reported.
"She hasn't been positively identified, however, we are assuming that it is her at this time so we are treating it as a homicide investigation," Reichard said.
They discovered the body in the basement inside a wall, where the body still lies. The police said that they plan to work through the night to determine if it is Annie Le, CNN reported.
Annie Le is the Yale graduate student that has been missing since Tuesday, just five days before her wedding, which was suppose to be today. The police announced last night in a press conference that 75 cameras were around the building where Annie Le was last seen, and they recorded her going into the building, but never coming out.
