Saddle up and grab yer holster, pardner! The Greater Dallas Republican organization is sponsoring its annual Concealed Handgun License class on May 30, 2010 in Dallas. Cost is $125 per person and includes all materials including 9mm handgun rental plus 50 rounds. See below for details.

Some additions to this story. My brother, Thomas Harkness, will be helping me with this class, and I have arranged for a larger classroom. There will be a limit of 32 students for this class, and the deadline for getting your registration to the Greater Dallas Republicans will be 5 business days before the class -- or when the class fills up, whichever comes first. You will need to call Alexandra at the number given in the article before you mail your check, to be sure that there is space available.
Also, the class will start at 8:30, not 9:00. I need the extra half-hour to process the notary forms (my wife will be there helping with that), and to take everyone's picture for the required passport photos. See my website (chl-tx dot com) for general information about the class, but be sure to send your registration request and payment to GDR.
The May 2010 GDR Fundraiser was a big success. And I plan to offer another in October 2010, just before the election that will insure that Dear Leader will be unable to inflict any more of His Agenda on the citizens of this great country.
I will be expanding my class offering to include the NRA Basic Pistol Shooting class, an optional extra that will prepare the student with little or no handgun experience to pass the Texas CHL range test easily on the first try.
Dates for the October classes will be the 23rd and 24th, with the Saturday class covering the NRA Basic Pistol Shooting and the Texas CHL Range test.
Cost of the combined course is still being negotiated, but I can assure you that students enrolling in both parts of the course will be getting a great bargain!
