Anne Walsh has been a fixture singing at various locations around L.A. and Orange County. Her latest CD is titled Go on AtoZink Music and it will be released on September 27, 2011. It is a project that includes some songs with Brazilian influence. Two of the songs Cinnamon and Clove and Batucada are songs that Sergio Mendes and Brazil 66 previously recorded. Walsh was raised in Worcester, Massachusetts where there was a large Brazilian population. She does a great job vocally on these and other songs on the CD.
Walsh is backed up by her husband Tom Zink on piano, keyboards and synth. They collaborated on this project. Chris Wabich plays drums, Tony Shogren is featured on percussion, Brian Bromberg and Jerry Watts are both on bass, Larry Koonse is on guitar and Gary Meek is on saxophone. If you like jazz with a touch of Brazil, then you will most certainly enjoy llistening to this CD. I know that I did. Let me know what you think about it.
