The announcement couldn’t have been more exciting for fans who have long awaited the return of her most popular character, the beloved and infamous “brat prince” Lestat de Lioncourt. The new book, entitled PRINCE LESTAT is being promoted with the #PrinceLestat. Slated for release October, 28 2014, presales begin next week on March 16, 2014. It will be a continuation of her extremely popular Vampire Chronicles, and she said on the air that it will be a direct sequel to Queen of the Damned.

"The last time I kept a secret this long, it was my own sexuality and I wound up with a bunch of unhappy girlfriends,” said Christopher Rice, who was voted Out Magazine’s eight most eligible bachelor of 2014. “Seriously, we we're planning this announcement for almost a year and I'm thrilled that it came off as well as it did. And I think PRINCE LESTAT is magnificent, juicy, sprawling, delicious novel and I can't wait for it to land before the public."

The popular vampire series started with “Interview with the Vampire,” which Rice wrote while she was still living in the San Francisco Bay Area. She spent more than thirty years in the Bay Area, and like her last book, “The Wolves of Midwinter,” “Interview” contains numerous local geographic references. She was living in Berkeley when her son was born. Both Rices currently live in Southern California.

She is a devoted fan of her son’s internet radio show.

“I think the Dinner Party Show is providing me with a terrific opportunity to really talk about my new book as I reveal it,” said Anne Rice. “I love the show’s format, the easy exchange with Christopher and Eric. So that’s why I’m very excited about revealing on the show. This is infinitely more fun say than releasing a Youtube film. It’s kind of the best of the new world of technology and the old world of radio and in the flesh press conferences. “

Anne Rice is a Hugo nominated author and the winner of the World Horror Convention Grand Master Award and the Bram Stoker Award for Lifetime Achievement
