Anne Hathaway is nominated for a 2013 SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role. She is nominated for her turn as Fantine in “Les Misérables.” Hathaway's performance as Fantine has been described as “overwhelming” and “powerful” by movie critics.
The Telegraph's film critic Robbie Collin called the four and a half minute take where she sings I Dreamed a Dream “mesmeric.” She is up against Sally Field (“Lincoln), Helen Hunt (“The Sessions”), Nicole Kidman (“The Paperboy”) and Maggie Smith (“Best Exotic Marigold Hotel”).
Hathaway’s red carpet style is always chic and elegant. She is a fan of Armani Prive, Oscar de la Renta, Valentino and Chanel. For the Golden Globes 2013 red carpet, the actress chose a white Chanel Couture gown from the designer’s Spring 2009 collection.
At the Critics’ Choice Awards, she opted for an Oscar de la Renta slip dress. At the AFI Awards, the actress donned a flowery Oscar de la Renta cocktail dress paired with a black blazer and red heels. Our favorite look so far this year is the ultra chic black three piece Saint Laurent suit the star rocked to the National Board of Review Awards.
We love that Hathaway embraces bold color on the red carpet. Whether she chooses to wear black and white or just a basic black, we’ll be delighted with what we know will be a stylish choice.
Will she choose Oscar de la Renta? We think she should save Oscar de la Renta for the Oscars.
The SAG awards will air live at 8 p.m. EST on Jan. 27 on TNT and TBS.
