Actress Anne Hathaway, whose acting style is often compared to Connecticut's own Audrey Hepburn, has been cast as Catwoman in the upcoming Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises". Before it was confirmed that Hathaway will play 'Selina Kyle'/ "Catwoman", there were rumors that the role would be played by Jessica Biel, Keira Knightley, Angelina Jolie and other A-list actresses.
In past Batman flick,s Catwoman has been played by Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry.
The sequel to "The Dark Knight" will star Tom Hardy from "Inception" as Bane and Christian Bale returns as Batman. "The Dark Knight Rises" is set to be released in June of 2012. Director Christopher Nolan stated that this will be the last Batman film that he will direct.
Hathaway played the role of White Queen in Tim Burton's adaptation of "Alice in Wonderland". She is probably best known for her role as Princess Mia in the 2001 movie "The Princess Diaries" and "Ella Enchanted" in 2004.
