Anne Hathaway is pretty in paisley at the Directors Guild of America Awards 2013

Anne Hathaway always looks her best when she is surrounded in fashion with beautiful color. That is the price she has to pay for having lovely pale and perfect skin that can be washed away with drab or harsh toned designs.

Anne showed her color savvy on Saturday in a stunning short embellished velvet paisley design by Valentino for the Directors Guild of America Awards in Los Angeles. The event took place at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at the Hollywood and Highland.

Anne's Valentino design featured a circular neckline and slightly capped sleeves. The whole story was the fabulous and opulent embellished fabric of the short dress which included shades of pink, coral and gold placed perfectly on a black background. She accented with simple satin Casadei pointed pumps and delicate Cartier jewelry according to Just Jared.

Anne was there along with her Les Miserables co-star Hugh Jackman to support the film's director Tom Hopper who was up for the Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film Award.

Anne has many lucky alliances in her life and her relationship with Mr.Valentino continues to serve her well. What a beautiful dress.
