Living in Irvine is always a delight when it comes to cultural cuisine and dining. A few weeks ago I happen to meet a friend and she mentioned a great restaurant in Irvine called Annapoorna serving Indian food. So we went for lunch and enjoyed the luncheon buffet for only $9.99 – couldn't believe the price and I was more amazed at how delicious everything tasted.
Annapoorna is hidden in small corner of the Heritage shopping center location at 14450 Culver Dr, Irvine, CA 92604. It’s best to park in the center’s parking area just around the corner by Lamppost Pizza. We got there around noon and only waited a few minutes to get a table.
Take your time to enjoy these seasoned meat dishes, creamy sauces and spiced vegetables. I started with the bread which is some of the best I've tasted in Orange County, California. The sauces and bread were a meal in itself, but I will admit that I fell in love with 2 servings of the stewed goat meat. Followed it up with the mango pudding and my taste buds were in heaven.
- They are open for lunch from 11:00 AM – 02:30 PM and dinner 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM
We ended up having cool drinks, but on my next visit I plan on having the spiced Indian tea. If you're a tea lover you have to try the Masala tea. The aromas from the spices finish off the perfect meal.
If you are stopping by for dinner, there’s a kids corner on the menu. My favorites are always the lamb and goat, but you will find a nice variety of seafood, and chicken along with a variety of incredible rice choices as well as bread selections.
