Unless you were living under a rock since last year, you probably heard of the horror phenomenon known as The Conjuring. Directed by the man behind Saw and Insidious, James Wan, The Conjuring told the true story of family being stalked by an evil presences in their new home. The movie took audiences by storm as The Conjuring was loved by moviegoers and critics a like. The film has become a new classic in the horror genre. However, while the whole experience of the 2013 film was frightening, there was one certain object that had just about everyone up at night. While it did not have many scenes, no one could view The Conjuring without mention the terrifying little doll known as Annabelle.
The doll was actually the vessel for a woman's spirit who wanted to stick around in the world of living. The problem was Annabelle became an unwanted guest and just liked to keep coming back. As stated, Annabelle did not have many scenes in The Conjuring. Yet the doll made such an impression to the movie, that if you thought you have seen the last of Annabelle on the silver screen, you are sadly mistaken.
Earlier this year, Warner Bros. and New Line Cinemas made announcement on continuing The Conjuring. The first film mentioned was the undoubted Conjuring 2; which is set to hit theaters on October of 2015. However the other film in mind was Annabelle, a spinoff dealing with the haunted doll and was planned to hit theaters this year. For some time now, news on this doll's film has been all but silent. However the studios have finally made it official and Annabelle will be hitting theaters this October. There is very little information on the film when it comes to a plot. The only details that can be given at this time is that the film is being directed by The Conjuring's cinematographer: John Leonetti; and that this horror spinoff will star Annabelle Wallis and Ward Horton. While there is very little information on this spinoff, it is more then likely that moviegoers will be seeing more on this horror film in the months to come. Yet no matter what the studio teases or what the story entails, you can rest assure that the infamous doll will be sending chills down moviegoers' spines this fall.
