Anna Kooiman: "Obama has offered to pay out of his own pocket" for Muslim museum (Video)

It should come as no surprise that an infotainment network which frequently produces deliberate misinformation from scratch also does not care enough to ever check their sources.

Fresh in the wake of Steve Doocy's completely false yet often repeated claim that President Obama sent more personnel to the World War II memorial than to Benghazi, Fox News host Anna Kooiman reported on Friday that Obama would be donating funds out of his own pocket to reopen the International Museum of Muslim Cultures.

"The Republican National Committee is offering to pay for it to keep it open so that the veterans from Honor Flight are going to be able to go and see this because, who did it honor? It honored them," said Kooiman. "It really doesn't seem fair, especially — and we're going to talk a little bit later in the show too about some things that are continuing to be funded. And President Obama has offered to pay out of his own pocket for the museum of Muslim culture out of his own pocket, yet it's the Republican National Committee who's paying for this."

Kooiman's source is the National Report, a political parody website in the same tradition as The Onion.

To Kooiman's credit, the National Report removed a disclaimer it once posted on its site acknowledging that the material contained within was parody, but Fox News should still have had doubts about any website which also reported that Jesus Christ is boycotting the Hobby Lobby.
