Mitt Romney didn't win the 2012 presidential election, and it appears his wife won't get the chance to win that mirror ball trophy. The 63-year-old Ann Romney won't be appearing on "Dancing with the Stars," according to TMZ. Although she was approached to be one of the contestants, she declined.
Apparently, Ann Romney's history includes a love for the reality dance show. At last season's finale, she even showed up in the audience.
Would it have been good for "Dancing with the Stars" for Ann to appear? The ratings for the show shot up with the appearance of Bristol Palin in 2010, although viewers tuned in more for the controversy than anything else. First, Palin is the daughter of Sarah Palin, a controversial figure on her own, and second, Palin managed to survive elimination and place third despite falling to the bottom of the leaderboard more than once.
If Ann were on the show and danced as poorly as Palin did, but survived elimination every time, would the controversy have returned?
