Ann Curry wants to leave NBC to have an opportunity to work a new job at CNN, and her demands are causing a bit of a stir online. Curry, who still has tons of support from “Today” show viewers after being ousted months ago from her job, is said to be interested in reuniting with her former boss Jeff Zucker.
According to a story reported on by Radar Online, Ann Curry is practically begging to be fired by NBC.
"Ann wants out of her contract, big time. She has formally asked her attorney to explore exit options from the network. However, NBC bosses have indicated they are unwilling to release Ann from the contract. If Ann were to just quit, there is a non-compete clause, which would prohibit her from working for another news outlet for two years,” said a Radar Online source, who of course spoke on the condition of anonymity to the popular celebrity website.
You might wonder if there’s more to the story regarding why Ann Curry really wants to leave the peacock network. And while the full details will only be known by Curry herself, many are starting to speculate that it could have something to do with alleged bad blood with Matt Lauer.
In fact, it’s been reported that Lauer himself has starting catching flack from “Today” show fans on the street. Sources close to Lauer claim that viewers of the show hurl insults at him, blaming him for getting Ann Curry fried from her “Today” show co-hosting gig.
Lauer is said to be miserable over the fact that fans are screaming negative things at him wherever he goes.
