A new report is just out that Ann Curry is trying to leave NBC so she can work for CNN. According to Daily Mail Dec. 31, fulfilling this plan isn't so easy since her contract specifically states that if she quits without NBC's approval, she's unable to work for any other network for at least two years.
Curry's attorney is analyzing her "exit options" and will argue that her demotion on "Today" last spring was a breach of contract.
Why does the former "Today" co-anchor want to leave NBC? She wants to work for CNN now that Jeff Zucker will be a new head honcho over there in February. Zucker wants to hire Curry to help "rejuvenate" the Anderson Cooper 8 p.m. time slot.
“Ann's lawyer feels that there is a very strong case to be made that NBC has breached terms of the deal because Curry was demoted from 'Today,'" an insider told RadarOnline. "Furthermore, Ann has basically been sequestered from appearing on the network. Yes, she has been doing some work that has been assigned to her, but it hasn't been steady."
Will Ann Curry's lawyer find a loophole in her NBC contract that will allow her move on to CNN?
