Fans of the hit show “The Brady Bunch” are mourning and in shock upon hearing the news of Alice, the beloved housekeeper on the show played by Ann B. Davis has passed away at the age of 88. TMZ shared the sad news of Ms. Davis’ passing yesterday.

It has been reported that Ann slipped and fell down in the bathroom hitting her head. The head injury caused a subdural hematoma putting her in an unconscious state. Davis never regained consciousness from the severe damage caused when she hit her head.

Ann Bradford Davis was born on May 5, 1926 in Schenectady, New York. Her sister, Harriet was her identical twin and she also had an older brother named Evans. Her career began in 1953 where she appeared as a musical judge in “Jukebox Jury”. The first television appearance was on the sitcom, “The Bob Cummings Show” which she twice, won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Davis made appearances in commercials for Ford Motor Company and Minute Rice.

Ann never married nor was ever romantically involved with anyone. There has never been any negative news about the actress during her career. Her roommate stated that she was in excellent health for a woman her age. Everyone who was close to her said her passing was a great shock. She was living with another couple in a home in Texas at the time of her demise.

She will be remembered most for her role as Alice Nelson on “The Brady Bunch”. The sitcom ran from 1968-1974. She also continued her role as Alice in “The Brady Bunch Variety Hour”, “The Brady Girls Get Married”, “The Brady Brides”, “The Bradys” and “A Very Brady Christmas”.

The funeral is being planned by members of her Texas church. There is no present news regarding the service as yet. Nor, has there been any news shared from the cast of “The Brady Bunch” thus far.

Ann B. Davis will greatly be missed by so very many people whom she touched during her lifetime on and off the screen!
