Memphis, Tenn. authorities announced on Jan. 10, 2014 that Andrea Walker, the mother of missing baby, Aniston Walker, has been charged with neglect and child abuse, according to CBS News.
Walker, 33, told police she left 7-week-old Aniston with her 3-year-old son while taking her 5-year-old child to school.
Aniston was reported missing Jan. 9 sometime after Walker returned home.
According to the Huffington Post, on Friday, police searched a local landfill looking for Aniston using cadaver dogs.
The Post reports that after police interviewed Walker about Aniston she was charged with abuse and neglect in connection with the girl’s disappearance. The report indicates she is a suspect in the case.
Walker is being held on $500,000 bond, according to CBS.
Chief Toney Armstrong noted that officers will continue to look for Aniston and “are not leaving any stone unturned.” He said they are focusing on the local neighborhood, CBS reports.
Armstrong stated authorities believe the baby’s father, who does not live at the same address as Walker, reported her missing, the Post reports.
The lawman also said, “Realistically, 7-week-old kids don’t mysteriously disappear without some circumstances behind it.”
