Aniplex announces Blu-ray release of third ‘Madoka Magica’ movie for April 2014

Earlier today, anime publisher Aniplex of America announced plans to release the third film in the “Madoka Magica” series, “Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie -Rebellion-” on Blu-ray this April.

The Blu-ray release of “Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie -Rebellion-” will be imported from Japan and released in both a collector’s edition and a standard edition. Both versions will include the film (presented in Japanese with English subtitles), audio commentary (no subtitles), a theatrical trailer and textless opening. The collector’s edition will also include exclusive cover art on both the rigid box and digipak, a deluxe booklet and an original soundtrack CD.

The film will be available beginning on April 8, 2014 and preorders for “Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie -Rebellion-” are now open. The collector’s edition is priced at $118.98, while the standard edition has an SRP of $69.98.

Aniplex of America has also confirmed some extras for those that purchase the collector’s edition from official retailers. Should you buy the movie from select retailers, like Right Stuf, you will also receive a translation booklet for the included deluxe booklet as well as three exclusive clear files featuring the theatrical poster images.
