Anime fans from around the Rocky Mountain region are gearing up for Denver’s big convention Nan Desu Kan, also known as NDK. At least 8-10,000 attendees will descend upon the Denver Marriott Tech Center Friday, Sep 13-15 and it is truly an event not to be missed. The costumes alone are worth setting aside the weekend for this amazing event. Con goers have been planning for months to celebrate the fandom by putting the finishing touches on their costumes, artwork and entertaining panels. Anime is an art form that captures the imagination of all ages. It is a worldwide pop culture phenomenon that is embraced by fans who enjoy watching the anime shows and movies, reading the graphic novels such as Manga, and living a life filled with beauty. Anime fashion fans know how to enjoy the finer things in life. Not only do they share in the common interests of anime, they dress with confidence and a kind of lost modesty not found in fashion today.
Attendees of NDK have plenty to experience. The convention will offer weekend-long video watching, video gaming, cosplay including a World Cosplay Summit, and an Anime music videos contest that packs the main events room every year. They also have an art show, model show, and costumes beyond imagination. Sponsored by the non-profit organization the Rocky Mountain Anime Association, every dollar they collect goes toward making NDK better every year and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the con.
