Animal rescuer begs for her own dog to be saved

A long time animal rescuer in Kansas City has fallen ill and is asking for help. The woman, who asked that her name not be used, has rescued thousands of animals over the years. Now she is looking for someone to rescue her own pet dog Herk.

She must leave her home. And she is begging for some one to care for her beloved dog, Herk. Though she has moved all of her foster pets to other rescues, she is now consumed with worry for her dog. Poor Herk will have to go to a shelter if she doesn't find a place for him soon.

According to a plea by fellow animal rescuers: "Herk is a very sweet 70lb, 10 year old Chow Chow mix. Herk was rescued at age three from a very bad situation-and been with his mom ever since. He has been in a home with both cats and other dogs. He is laid back guy and gets along well with other pets. He loves to enjoy time outside, but he also loves snoozing on his bed.

In his younger years he was a fence jumper, but is now showing his age -so that is not a problem anymore. Herk has never been kenneled, he is free roaming with no issues-a very good boy!Herk really has no bad habits, he is low energy, and would be a very easy pet."

Friends of his owner are hopeful that a home can be found for this lovely dog. Though she would love for him to remain near enough to visit, she is willing to consider placing him anywhere he can find a home. Transport may be arranged by the Saving Dogs of Missouri animal rescue organization

Can you foster Herk until a place is found - or perhaps offer him a happy home to live out his days?
